Job Description

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be in charge of interacting directly with customers, through phone calls or email. As well as to provide product quotes and technical assistance/advice regarding all product lines carried by RPS. You must be naturally mechanical, but not necessarily a mechanic.

Meanwhile, you may be curious about how things work and want to understand WHY one would choose one option over another, so you can better advise your customers. Although it’s not a prerequisite, direct experience, or a working understanding of High-Pressure Water Blast and/or Oil & Gas / Industrial Cleaning will be a benefit. You will be responsible for familiarity with product availability, terminology, use, application, benefits, and pricing structures.

As an inside sales representative, you will be in charge of providing superior customer service, product selection, and quotation preparation. While also supporting other sales teams across the country. In addition, you must be open to cross-discipline training within an organization.

Responsibilities

Customer Service:

  • You must efficiently and accurately enter customer orders, quotes, and purchase orders to vendors.
  • You will work closely with the purchasing department to expedite customer orders when necessary.
  • Also, you will need to keep customers informed of their order/inquiry status and lead times to manage expectations.
  • Furthermore, you must display a positive attitude at all times.
  • As well as demonstrating awareness of company, branch, and territory targets and strategies
  • You will need to identify and relay customer opportunities, issues, and concerns.
  • Building customer relationships and corporate reputation
  • Executing quotation follow-up; including maintaining and updating sales quotes and relative customer information

Product Selection And Quotation Preparation:

  • You must ensure to identify customer needs (delivery times, product, and price.)
  • Ensure you focus on details – valid price, product number, and description.
  • As well as coordinating with suppliers when necessary.
  • Providing technical information
  • Developing advanced knowledge of our order entry and other related software

 

Requirements

Essential:

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Obtain a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience (industrial sales or customer service).
  • Obtain advanced computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Must exude enthusiasm, passion, confidence, and an optimistic attitude
  • Must be driven and determined to win orders

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in English at a technical level

Desirable:

  • Fluent in both English & French at a technical level
  • Working knowledge of high-pressure industrial cleaning or oil & gas technical/mechanical processes
  • Working knowledge of industry products, systems, and applications is an asset; specifically, water blast automation, industrial cleaning, high-pressure hoses & fittings, and diesel / electric/pneumatic pumping systems.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software systems
  • Above average computer knowledge/experience (Word, Excel)
  • Must be a good communicator and be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to interpret written and verbal instructions.
