Your Job Responsibilities Each Day
- You will need to work with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are directed toward maintaining and enhancing their physical abilities, lifestyle, and well-being.
- In addition, you will be in charge of managing and prioritizing clinical caseloads. And also coordinate and deliver therapeutic services.
- You will participate in a collaborative care model that provides holistic and comprehensive care to meet the needs of clients.
- Also, you will promote positive relationships between clients, team members, funders, and community
The Necessary Requirements To Achieve Success
- You must be a graduate of an accredited School of Physiotherapy.
- You must also be registered and in good standing or eligible to be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
- You are passionate about your profession and are committed to ongoing professional development.
- In addition to the above, you must have a strong client-centered approach.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
You must have graduated from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy. Also, you must be currently practicing full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC (CPTBC). Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Also, know current Physical Therapy standards, modalities, and scope of practice, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid BC Driver’s License.

What Conditions Do Physiotherapists Treat?
As a physiotherapist, you will be able to treat a vast number of conditions and injuries. Some of these conditions or injuries include:
- Orthopedic: Back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, low back pain, foot conditions, sciatica, knee conditions, joint problems, among others.
- Neurological: Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy (nerve damage), vertigo (feeling dizzy/off-balanced), cerebral palsy, stroke, concussion, and more.
- Autoimmune: Fibromyalgia, Raynaud’s syndrome, and Rheumatoid arthritis.
- Guillain-Barre syndrome
- Chronic conditions: Asthma, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and more.
- General wellness
As a physiotherapist, you may work in a clinic, hospital, nursing home, or rehabilitation facility. You can also visit a patient at home for treatment. Oftentimes, you will work closely with doctors, providing feedback regarding a patient’s progress, and any issues that you notice while working with them.
